The emails that I receive from the Girl Scouts of America are full of valuable information. The latest one is promoting National Girl Scout Cookie Day on February 8th.
The reason for this new special Girl Scout day is to promote the 5 skills that selling cookies is supposed to promote:
- Goal Setting
- Decision Making
- Money Management
- People Skills
- Business Ethics
There is a push to sell cookies on that day to share with the community the largest girl-led business in the world.
Here is an article that goes into more detail about the program and the purpose of National Girl Scout Cookie Day.
Here is another article, written by a teenage Girl Scout named Olivia Ottenfeld, on what selling Girl Scout cookies did for her.
Are your girls participating in this event? If so, what are you doing?
