I was reading a post from a concerned leader in one of my leader Facebook groups. Her local food bank is very low and the girls in her troop wanted to help.

Here are some ideas that others shared for this easy and wonderful Girl Scout community service project that any level of scouts can do.
- Set up a post on Nextdoor saying you are collecting food donation at your address put out a box and pull it in at night
- Ask the school principal if the girls can put out a donation collection box. They can share over the PA system what they are doing.
- Some troop are “trick or treating for cans” to scare aware hunger. The girls will go door to door in costume. We also left fliers in a local neighborhood so neighbors can leave items on the porch if they are not home.
- You can also write a post on your local “Buy Nothing” Facebook group to try and get donations.
