When I was a troop leader, I made it a point to only have one level. All of the girls needed to be in the same grade, as I did not have the help, or the bandwidth, to have a multi-level troop. As a volunteer, that is what I needed to do.

Instead of spending hours figuring out how to keep Daisies and Brownies busy with completely different activities, leaders can use meetings where the Brownies work toward a badge while the Daisies work toward related petals. The resource explains that each Brownie badge included has activities that correspond with specific Daisy petals, allowing new Daisies to earn petals while second-year Daisies can use the activities as a review.

One of the biggest benefits of this resource is that one troop meeting can serve both levels. That is incredibly helpful for leaders who may not have enough adult volunteers to divide the troop into separate groups.
