Here is part two on how my troop did the Girl Scout Senior Girltopia Journey in a weekend.
Updated August 2022
In my last blog post, I shared what I did on Day One of the Girl Scout Senior Girltopia Journey.
Day two got off to a rockier start, mainly because my daughter was giving off a bit of an attitude since she was tired.
And she did not want to to the Journey.
“Yesterday was fun“, she told me, “but today I don’t feel like doing this.“
Can you leaders relate to your daughters’ making a meeting go less smoothly than planned? As nicely as I could in front of her friends (and they have known me a long time) I told her too bad, this has to get done in order to go for Gold. I explained that it was a life lesson, that sometimes you had to do things you did not want to do in order to achieve your goals.

Visionary Project
Remember that the previous night I had the girls find and save an inspirational quote for this craft project.
Materials
Canvas Boards
Pencils
Sharpies

In pencil, the girls wrote the quote that they had chosen. Then they filled them in with Sharpie. My daughter, the artist, has yet to complete hers.

We had a lunch break and while the girls were eating, they did page 55 in the girls book. After discussing, this is what they came up with.

With such a gorgeous day, the girls asked to swim so they took time off to do that.
Take Action Project for Girltopia
Once I got them out of the pool, they started working on the Take Action Project. They did not want to do a video like they did last year, and they decided to do a poster with celebrities and inspirational quotes to share with others.
In order to get it to a wider audience, I signed up for a free Wix website that the girls will create to share their poster and what they learned from Girltopia. I will share it here when it is finished, and they can share it on their personal social media accounts.
This could have been finished during day 2, but my daughter was being a pain and not willing to plow through and finish. So we will meet a third time to work on the poster and website.
Here is the next blog post that details out Take Action Project.
