Most people are familiar with S’mores. Three sweet ingredients melted together for ooey gooey goodness. If you are looking for a fun meeting during this busy time of year or while you are camping, here are some fun S’mores challenges your girls will enjoy. The activities you choose will depend on what cooking facilities you have available to you.
These ideas would make for a fun “just because” meeting-no badge needed! It is a fun and non holiday related meeting that is inclusive to all scouts, and it can be a much needed break from cookie sales later this winter.
Girl Scout S’mores Meeting Sponge Activity
For those who arrive early (and these can be used later for a time filler), the Girl Scouts of Colonial Coast have a free S’mores word search you can print out.
Girl Scout S’mores a la Food Network
Most girls are probably familiar with The Food Network. You can create a fun meeting Create a smorgasbord of ingredients for your girls.
Activity 1
Chopped
On a separate table, lay out the ingredients in three sections. The cracker and the two middles. Some choices to have:
DIfferent kind of cookies for the outer layer (chocolate chip, sugar, any kind you can find at your local supermarket bakery)
Different kinds of chocolate for the middle-chocolate chips, chocolate bars, chocolate mints, any kind of chocolate covered treat
Different kinds of sweet middles-jams or jellies, Peeps, different flavored marshmallows, Fluff, flavored cream cheese
Activity 2
Make a Gourmet S’more
While the girls are aware of the traditional s’mores ingredients, they can also pretend to be a chef and create their own unique twist on this classic treat. Can they make an open faces s’more? A deconstructed s’more? Swap out ingredients for others, like:
- For the cracker, use a pizzelle, ice cream waffle cone, wafer cookie
- For the squishy marshmallow, use banana slices, jelly or jam, jellied candy
- For the chocolate, use any chocolate bar that is sliced or chopped up

Girl Scout S’mores Minute to Win It Games
Games are a fun way to develop teamwork and get the girls moving in a positive way.
S’mores Stack
Each team gets a pile of graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate. They have one minute to make as many s’mores as possible. To make it more difficult, have them wear oven mitts!
This resource sheet has a list of other s’mores games you can do with your girls.
Make a Girl Scout S’mores SWAP
Making and trading SWAPS is a Girl Scout tradition. The Girl Scouts of Arizona Cactus-Pine has a SWAP your older girls can make. Younger girls can make it as well if you do the prep work in advance.
Below is a video on how to make a s’mores swap another way.
