For leaders looking for something fun to do with their daughters this summer, here is a wonderful hands on summer reading program that is a Cadette SIlver Award project.
I was reading in one of the Girl Scout Facebook groups about a Cadette Silver Award project a Girl Scout Cadette had completed. For her Silver Award, she created a website with fun summer activities for students in Kindergarten through eighth grade.
This website is for girls Kindergarten through 8th grade. There are books to be read and a checklist of activities to complete for each book. The goal of this Cadette Silver Award is to keep girls actively engaged with reading, physical activity (games), and all sorts of cooking, crafts, and science.
Books are grouped by grade level, so you know which ones to choose that is appropriate for your daughter. Once girls have finished the 10 requirements, the patch is earned.
The patch is free.
As of May 30th, there were only 100 patches still available. Once they are gone, they are gone.
Here is the Cadette Silver Award Summer Fun Activities website.
Help support a very worthwhile project!
